More than just winning prizes!

Taking part will help your students grow confidence through project work, inspire them to explore an area of interest and develop independent learning skills. The competition also provides an invaluable opportunity to get feedback from industry experts and to celebrate and share their achievements. With the competition going digital in 2021, there are even more opportunities to get feedback.

Anyone can do a project!

Projects can be on any topic in the field of STEM and don’t need to meet a set standard: whether they’ve been conducted using simple everyday items or carried out research in a scientific laboratory, in school or at home, it’s all about the idea and the enthusiasm behind it. It could be an invention, a communications campaign or research into solving a problem within the community. Why not ask your students what’s inspired them this year?

Previous projects have included:

  • Plastic filtering robot whale
  • Why should we wash our hands?
  • Building for climate change
  • Sign language gloves
  • Is sun cream water resistant?
  • Auto-inflatable car roof-tent
  • Shining a light on dark matter

It’s easy to take part!

Sign up for tips on how to get started and exclusive advice from judges and previous competitors. You can enter your projects from March, but let’s start thinking about it and plan your project now!
