At Causeway Education, we work to make sure that young people facing socio-economic barriers to progression have access to impactful interactions with employers. This is why we are proud to be supporting international legal practice Allen & Overy with the delivery of their Smart Start programme and are delighted to invite your students to apply.

What does Smart Start offer students? 

In 2023 to ensure that more students can benefit from an opportunity to gain a real insight into the world of work, Allen & Overy will be running two fully funded work-related learning programmes. The in-person Smart Start Week and the online Smart Applications programme.

Smart Applications
  • June & July 2023
  • Delivered virtually across 8 live webinars 
Both schemes provide students with the opportunity to gain interview experiencenetwork with employees at a leading law firm and develop valuable employability skills by completing tasks based on professional scenarios at Allen & Overy.

Where can students find out more? 

Students must attend a Smart Choices online event, running throughout March and April before applying. In the session they will learn how to identifysecure and analyse professional and academic experiences.Participants will be provided with information on both Smart Applications and the Smart Start Week, the shared application process, and encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will take part in either Smart Start or Smart Applications - students cannot attend both.

How do students apply for Smart Start? To take part, students must:
  1. Adhere to the eligibility criteria, which can be found here. 
  2. Attend one Smart Choices event (March/April 2023)
  3. Complete the application form (March/April 2023)
