National Careers week NHS

Today, we celebrate the more than 350 NHS careers.

Did you know that on a typical day more than 1 million people visit a GP surgery, 35,000 people call 999 and 44,000 people attend A&E? It means it’s the largest employer in Europe with 1.5 million people in England alone.

The NHS is much more than doctors and nurses. In fact, it recruits people in everything from estates and facilities, healthcare science and IT. It also recruits more than 20,000 apprentices every year.

Celebrate the NHS

As part of NHS Health Careers, the NHS has a lot of resources to help students better understand its career options and routes into the health service.

With more than 350 NHS careers it can be overwhelming for young people when looking for the NHS career that’s right for them.

Our ‘Find your career’ quiz can help your students find the right role in five minutes.
