The Hub | Digital Auditions 2021

In 2021, public National Youth Theatre Auditions are taking place online.

As an alternative to schools auditions in 2021 your students can get involved with the National Youth Theatre by signing up to our new Hub scheme.

As Hub-scribers, your students can: 
  • Access x24 Industry Workshops
  • Audition to become an Acting Member (14-25)
  • Interview to become a Backstage Member (16-25)
  • Attend Creative Leadership Sessions  
  • Get Exclusive Content and Resources 
  • Unlock Discounts, Merch & More

The Hub
 
 

Master your talent from home 

In response to the pandemic in 2020 our annual Masterclasses have moved online and we've we worked with hundreds of young people nationwide on our new online courses. 

We're pleased to be offering online Masterclasses in the Spring Term starting in January and also in March 2021 so students can master their talents from home. 
Students aged 15-25 can choose one of the below courses with 5 weekly 90 minute evening sessions.

Comedy and Improvisation
Acting for Screen and Self-Taping
Writing for Stage and Screen 
Performing Shakespeare on Stage and Screen
Directing

Online Masterclasses
 

 

What happens at the audition day?

10am - 1pm
3-hour skills-workshop led by National Youth Theatre Associate 

2pm onwards
1-to-1 auditions for each student 

What happens at the Summer Course?

Successful auditionees will be invited to join a 2-4 week intake summer course. At the end of their course, they will become an Acting Member at the National Youth Theatre.

A career in technical theatre


Are your students interested in Design & Technology, Fashion or Construction? We also offer a Backstage Course for young people aged 16-25. Students interested in taking part can sign up to the Hub and book onto a digital Backstage Interview.

Successful applicants will take part in a Backstage Course and specialise in one of the following: 
  • Costume Design and Making 
  • Lighting, Video and Projection 
  • Set Design & Scenic Construction 
  • Theatre Sound Design and Composition 
  • Stage Management

What it is like to be a NYT Member?


'Offers a stellar start to young actors' BBC Radio 4

After completing their acting or backstage intake course, Members have access to a nationwide network of creatives, Made by Members Festivals, key roles on projects, castings in NYT shows in the West End and beyond, external casting calls for professional productions, TV shows and films, Creative Leadership training, events, tickets and more until they turn 26.
