National Grid, one of the world’s largest energy companies, will be offering Y12/13 students a one week of simulated virtual work experience through our Connectr platform. The work experience provides amazing insights into the energy sector, an industry that is required to fill 400,000 roles by 2050 to help the UK reach its Net Zero target!  What will students get from the programme?  Online blended learning approach for students to take up a 5-day interactive challenge and digital project. From medicine, law, performing arts, psychology, business or becoming a vet, we have a 1-day online event for you, designed to give you an insight into life in your chosen field. You'll spend half of the day with experts in the field, gaining first hand knowledge of what life is really like in that career through a live online session with hundreds of other students from all over the world. Your tutors will give you an insight into life as a student, guide you through the application process and teach you how to secure a place to study at university.   The Festival of Apprenticeships is a careers roadshow exhibition that will go across the country promoting apprenticeships! This year's festival takes place in  London ,  Manchester  and  Birmingham. London - Thursday 30th June at the KIA Oval Book Now Manchester - Monday 4th July at MMU Business School Book Now Birmingham - Friday 8th July at Millennium Point Book Now Top employers and learning providers will be showcasing their talent and opportunities to future apprentices. We are reaching out to schools and colleges to come along and attend the event with their pupils so they can find out more about apprenticeships by meeting employers, meeting existing apprentices and learn how to go about applying for apprenticeships.  The events will run from  10am till 3pm and you can attend in the morning or in the afternoon.  The event is aimed at pupils from Year 10 and above, with a strong focus on 16+ and 18+ career opportunities.   We are asking pupils due to leave school this year to ‘think ahead’ and get their career plans in place now, to start an apprenticeship with JTL this September.  JTL is a leading national independent training provider, with over 25 years’ experience of successfully delivering electrical and plumbing & heating apprenticeships to the building services engineering sector. As places at JTL training centres and partner colleges are in high demand for this September, we are advising pupils to think ahead and start looking for a potential apprenticeship employer now before leaving school, and to get their application in to us early using our online application system.  A JTL apprenticeship can be started at 16 (once individuals have a National Insurance number) and completed within 4 years.     First Intuition’s online Accountancy Academy programme is taking place in July 2022 for GCSE and A-Level students interested in learning more about a career in accountancy and finance. The Accountancy Academy is made up of  five weekly webinars from 4.30pm – 6pm starting on 5 th  July  and will give young adults considering a career in accountancy and finance the chance to find out more about the options, to hear from local employers, get CV and interview advice, and to refine their career decisions.
