Ships come in all shapes and sizes, each with different purposes. All require an engineering team to ensure all the systems and engines run smoothly, from ventilation systems to pumps, power generation to refrigerators. After all, at sea, if something goes wrong you can’t just pull in to the nearest garage. It will be up to the engineering team to diagnose the fault, get the equipment dismantled, repaired, reassembled and back into operation.
Careers at Sea is here to promote the many career opportunities in the Merchant Navy, from cadet to captain, apprentice to Chief Engineer and so many more. In this session, we will be focussing on the Engineering roles on board ship – maintaining and monitoring ship mechanics, from their immense engines to essential water and heating systems, as well as more complex technical electric equipment. This webinar is aimed at Careers Advisors seeking more information about these opportunities.
